In the hardware, we have achieved a uniform background in both bright and dark field conditions in the measurement area by our original lighting technology.
In addition, even with the software, brightness unevenness of the culture medium itself can be corrected, and all areas other than colonies can be made into a uniform background.
As a result, even if there is a slight difference between the culture medium and the colonies, it is possible to select only the colonies and count the number with high accuracy.
Top lighting is required for specimens whose media do not transmit light, or when detecting colonies by color.
It is possible to change the height position of the top lighting. By this function, the outline of colonies can be clearly photographed.
Height adjustment is only available in PSF-2100/5100/7100.
After automatic measurement, it is possible to do manual correction. Manual correction in PSF series has three functions, add false-negative colonies, delete false-positive colonies, and except an area for count.
The operation is easy and can be carried out with mouse clicks.
A round petri dish can be detected, and the count area can be set automatically.
With the automatic binarization function, it is possible to count without making any troublesome condition setting.
Using Lab color space close to human vision, measurement conditions can be set with one mouse click!
